AC laminated solenoid from the TT10 / ML2566 family, with CL11A1P8 reference supplied for identification. Curtiss-Wright specifies the TT10 ML2566 family at 66 × 25 × 75 mm, 28 W AC at 100% power and 56 N force at 20 mm stroke, with optional AC voltage ratings and either flying leads or tags depending on variant. Units of this general type are used for industrial lock/release and actuator duties, including certain OMA and Bradbury four-post lift arrangements; compatibility is not universal.
Technical & installation notes
- AC operation produces an inrush current as the armature moves, providing a strong initial pull.
- Some audible hum can occur in AC laminated solenoids depending on the application and mounting conditions.
- The armature (plunger and yoke) must be allowed to travel fully and seat. Incomplete seating can cause overheating of the solenoid coil.
- If the armature cannot pull fully home or repeatedly chatters, isolate the supply and investigate the mechanical linkage, alignment and specified coil supply rather than leaving the coil energised.
- TT10-family units are available in different AC voltage ratings. Confirm the exact coil voltage and frequency, mounting, plunger/yoke geometry, available stroke, force requirement and mechanical interface before fitting.
